Walter Scherz becomes new Chief Financial Officer of the Franke Group
Walter Scherz will be the designated Chief Financial Officer of the Franke Group and member of the Management Board as of September 1, 2024. He succeeds Juerg Fischer, who will retire at the end of August 2024 after 19 years. Walter Scherz is a proven financial expert with many years of international management experience. He was previously Chief Financial Officer of the Datwyler Group.
Walter Scherz will take over responsibility for the Franke Group's finance area from Juerg Fischer as new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on September 1, 2024, and will therefore also be appointed to the Management Board. After 19 years at Franke as CFO, Juerg Fischer will take his well-deserved retirement at the end of August 2024.
Walter Scherz has around 20 years of experience in finance and comes from the Dätwyler Group. The 46-year-old has been a member of the Management Board since 2020 and was CFO of the Finance & Shared Services corporate function. Prior to that, he spent seven years at Dätwyler in various management roles, including Vice President Corporate Development and Post Merger Integration in the Sealing Solutions division and Head of Internal Group Audit. He began his professional career at KPMG, where he worked as an external auditor and in other functions with international assignments. Walter Scherz holds a master's degree in economics from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, and is a certified auditor.
